Impressing My Rural Relatives

It’s been some months since I updated this blog. Part of the delay can be attributed to my move into the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Folks, this Traveling Online Teacher couldn’t be more pleased with his new locale if he tried all day long. The architectural beauty of these homes are truly breathtaking, and standing on the corner of St. Charles Avenue in my black gabardine slacks and dove-gray Stetson fedora as the winter sun dapples my spanking new 7-fold tie refreshes my joie de vivre.

My travel adventures recently included a three-day jaunt to the outskirts of Shreveport, LA. The beautiful La Bolt served as the wheelwoman and drove us upstate in a rented Cadillac. As we sped along the highway I fired up the AT&T Option GT MAX 306 Express card gracefully inserted in the side of my Dell laptop and graded papers submitted to my online classes. There might be something better than rocking gently along in leather seats at 70 MPH and listening to my Pandora radio stations while parsing student essays in a virtual classroom, but I haven’t discovered it yet.

The rain and cold descended upon us as soon as we pulled into the small town outside of Shreveport, and I would have been in a pickle with my AT&T Option GT MAX 306 Express card since the home of the relative we visited didn’t have any Internet access at all!

However, instead of being forced into and out of the weather in an attempt to find a WiFi hot spot so I could access my online classes, I was able to stay warm and dry inside the house at the dining room table while impressing my country kinfolk with the dazzle of online teaching. My rural relatives, needless to say, were mighty impressed by my ability to lounge around in silk pajamas and make a healthy sum of money from teaching off of a laptop.

For those of you who follow the Traveling Online Teacher, I want to direct your attention to my latest effort: onlineteachingsearch.com.

I will write at length about this new web site in my next blog post.

Happy Holidays!
