I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! As I mentioned in several posts, I am “wintering” in the Big Easy, and despite the still enormous problems that exist, the city is truly startling in its beauty.
Here is a picture of me standing on St. Charles Avenue. I’m waiting on one of the legendary streetcars to take me to the French Quarter.
Winter in New Orleans is extremely mild compared to other parts of the country. I encourage all traveling online teachers to put the Big Easy on their list of places to visit this year.
Connectivity in New Orleans is as simple as pie. Almost every block has a coffee hole offering free wifi for the price of a hot cup of joe, and the 3G network make the purchase of a broadband wireless laptop card a very smart move.
