Earning a Living Online

I usually write about earning money online while actually developing online pay, lounging around in silk pajamas and red Crocs, grading essays and responding to Discussion Threads in my online classes.

Today, however, I want to write about the idea of cash from your computer.

By and large, possessing a graduate degree is evidence of enough brains to get paid online. Too many teachers, I think, fail to realize that the very skills that give them access to an online pay check through paid online work such as online teaching can allow them to increase their online incomes by creating blogs and web sites that are monetized by Google AdSense ads.

It’s not a lack of brains or online cash generating skills that prevents online teachers for fully utilizing the Internet to make money; it is a simple lack of awareness of the availability of paying online work by which they can inaugurate a system of Personal Enterprise or online business.

I will admit right here that making money on the Internet, much less making extra money online, was a mystery to me. I was one of the number of very adroit college teachers attempting to work online but who didn’t see the financial potential offered by the expansion of my understanding of the digital environment as a potential field on which I could practice my Personal Enterprise.

There is no doubt in my mind that working at home jobs are quickly maturing as an online cash generating industry. The online profit margins offered by online teaching for college and university administrators is simply too large to be ignored by them. It remains to be seen if online teachers can mature as quickly and not wind up in the same position as the Joads.

Remember that the real problem for the Joads is that they couldn’t understand mass marketing efforts such as making money on the Internet.

Of course, the more money administrators make, the less the online teachers make. Is this fair? No! However, it is the law of earning a living online, so to speak, and online business will not change simply because it is not fair. Online instructors who have home based businesses are not able to band together and demand fair pay.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of online teachers to implement a program of Personal Enterprise that employs the very skills and knowledge bases that allow them to teach online.

I’m sure you, the reader of my blog, notice the advertisements in The Traveling Online Teacher. These ads put money in my pocket as I teach my online classes. It’s not much of an online paycheck right now, but I if I can earn a graduate degree, I can figure out how to make cash from a computer.

There is no reason you can’t earn money online for yourself.
